Privacy and cookies
How 7th Airedale (St. Margaret's) Scout Group uses the information you give us through this website, and the cookies it sets.
Who we are
This website is run by 7th Airedale (St. Margaret's) Scout Group, registered charity 1023453 ("the group", "we"). We are responsible for the personal information you give us through the website.
To contact us about your information, email glv@7thairedalescouts.org.uk.
What we collect and why
Waiting list. When you add a young person to our waiting list we collect their name, date of birth and the section they'd like to join, and your name, email address and, if you give them, your phone number and postcode. We use these only to manage our waiting list and to contact you when a place comes up. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: running a fair waiting list for the families who ask to join.
Contact and volunteering forms. When you send a message we collect your name, email address, and, if you give them, your phone number, postcode and message. We use these only to reply to you and deal with your enquiry. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: responding to people who contact us.
Where your information goes
Each message is emailed to the volunteer who handles that kind of enquiry, using Microsoft 365.
A copy is kept in the website's secure admin area, which only the group's website editors can see.
The website and its database are hosted on Microsoft Azure, in Microsoft's European data centres.
We never sell your information or use it for marketing, and we only share it with another part of the Scouts (for example our district) when that's needed to answer your enquiry.
How long we keep it
We keep a copy of messages sent through this website for 12 months, then delete them automatically. Waiting list details are added to Online Scout Manager and kept there until your young person joins, you ask us to remove them, or they’re too old for our sections.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you or your young person, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details above. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
