We were absolutely delighted to hear that one of our Young Leaders, Henry, was awarded his Chief Scout’s Diamond Award last week. He brought his badge to Scouts this week to show us.
The Chief Scout’s Diamond Award is the highest of the Chief Scout’s Awards and the final step before the King’s Scout Award. Henry joined 7th Airedale as a Beaver in 2015 and has worked his way up through our sections before returning as a Young Leader, first with our Cub Pack and now with our Scout Troop.
Achieving this award takes an enormous amount of personal effort. It’s more than just turning up to a section meeting every week; it means putting in time outside Scouts on camps and expeditions. It also includes completing 16 nights away as an Explorer and activities based on international, community and values.
We are incredibly proud of you, Henry, and hope you are proud of yourself for this achievement. Well done, and we look forward to you completing your King’s Scout Award next!
